They couldnt have asked for a better start. The New England Free Jacks kicked off their innagural season with a bang. New England got off to a hot start with their winger scoring the first of many trys for the franchise. The second try was not far behind when a booming kick had the perfect bounce off the cross bar and into the free jacks arms. New York answered with a dominant maul and conversion to get on the board. The Free Jacks ended the half strong when their fullback rolled in off a tackle to make it 22 -7.
The second half took a little longer for the Free Jacks to score but they did so with a beautiful long pass to the edge where the fullback Waaka scored his second try of the match. They continued their dominance when Waaka chipped over the defense and the support took it in for the try. The final had the Freejacks topping the Roosters by a score of 34-14.
New England came in as the newer team since New York started their franchise last season. It comes as a surprise that the Freejacks were able to win with ease. Its a good sign of things to come but lets not get carried away its a long season they've won nothing yet but its a good start.
